Barbeque pits
Barbeque pits can be put in your yard without any commercial
equipment, but it is much easier to purchase a barbecue pit. They are
usually made from thick steel that our quarter inch thick. With a little
maintenance and care your pit should last for years.
Barbeque pits need to be cured with a coat of cooking oil. Olive oil
is somewhat messy but can be applied and brushed on with a paintbrush.
After a couple of coats the oil will dry and form a nice protective
coat.
Barbeque pits need to be cleaned out after use. Make sure you throw
away old ashen ward that can cause premature rusting. If you do notice
any rusting, use a wire brush to clean off that area. Then use a specialized
barbecue spray paint to touch up your pit.
